Classroom
Procedures
- Students will be assigned a seat within the first days of school.
This seating arrangement may change due to function or misbehavior
as the year progresses.
- Each day, students should enter the room and be seated immediately.
Once they are seated, students should begin working on the bell
work or reading from their Accelerated Reader book.
- Students should take care of using the restroom or getting water
between classes. If it is necessary to attend to one of these
during class, the student should raise his/her hand and request
permission to leave the room. The student must sign out when
leaving and sign in when returning.
- Students should bring their materials (binder, workbooks, journal,
and pen/pencil) to class everyday. If a student does not have
his/her material in class, points will be deducted from his/her
participation grade.
- When a student is absent,
he/she should bring a note. Students will be given the amount of
time that they were absent to complete all missed work. (See
Parent-Student Handbook, 5.3)
- Homework may be turned in a day late for 1/2
credit. Homework turned in two or more days late will receive a
grade of “0.” For all other late assignments, 5 points per day
will be deducted from the assignment’s overall grade.
- While taking a quiz or test, students may not
talk. Students who finish early should use this time to read from
their Accelerated Reader book or work on other assignments for the
class.
- If a student is caught cheating on an
assignment, quiz, or test, his/her paper will receive a grade of
“0” and a referral will be sent to the office.
- Weekly
assignments will be posted on Quia each Monday. However, your child is still responsible for copying the
information from the board into his/her assignment pad every day.
In the event there is a difference between the assignment
pad and Quia, please adhere to the assignment pad.
