biography...
My name is
Cindy Dominguez Wagner, a native and resident of Ponchatoula.
I graduated from SLU with a BA in Elementary Education and a MEd
from SLU in Elementary Teaching. I bring to the classroom 19
years of teaching experience, having taught Grades 1-4 in Tangipahoa
and Livingston Parish public schools, as well as at St. Joseph
School. This is my 5th year teaching at HGS.
I received
the Teacher of the Year award at Albany Elementary School in 1999.
I have also been trained in
Project
READ, Thinking Maps, Write From the Beginning, Boys/Girls Town, Lee
Canter's Assertive Discipline, among others.
Personally,
I am married to Keith Wagner and have a daughter, Caroline, who is
attending HGS.
I chose HGS
because of its Christian climate, high academic standards, and in
particular, because of the energetic, positive atmosphere that is
absolutely contagious!
Teaching at
a Catholic school has many benefits including supportive parents,
well-mannered children, and a faculty that is like a second family.
Being able to teach our Catholic faith is an inspiration.
I feel like
my life has come full circle as HGS is the school where I began my
teaching career. I feel blessed to be back and part of the HGS
family.
