The Holy Ghost School Drama Club
"The Spirit of the Stage"

Holy Ghost is
proud to offer the Drama Club for students in
grades 5th - 8th. The Drama Club has
presented musical theatre to the students of
Holy Ghost, a few surrounding schools, and the
general public since 1995. Some past
productions include Grease, You're
a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Sound of
Music, The Wizard of Oz, and most
recently, selections from Music Theatre
International's popular Broadway Junior series.
These productions include Annie Jr., Honk
Jr., Into the Woods Jr., Aladdin
Jr., Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr. and
Disney's Beauty and the at Jr. We have been in association with
Rogers and Hammerstein Theatricals by staging
productions of Cinderella and Once
Upon a Mattress which were a part of their
G2K (Getting to Know) musical theatre series. This year we are excited to present
Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Jr.
Auditions are
held in early September with performances
scheduled for March.
Theatre games and
activities are used to observe creativity
and stage presence. Singing auditions are
heard as either a solo or small group or both.
Music selection should be performed a cappella
or with student-provided accompaniment in the
form of a CD or tape.

Terri Morrison.
The club has
performed at the Columbia Theatre for the
Performing Arts for the past 5 years.
Rehearsals are held after school hours.
There is a $60.00 entry fee which covers the
cost of costumes, scripts, and the rights to do
the play. Other costs of production (backdrops,
sets, and theatre rental) are funded through the
donations of
