Mrs.Gambel joined the teaching staff at Holy Ghost in 1999 as a Kindergarten Assistant and was hired the following year as the 5th/6th Grade Religion teacher.  She attended Spring Hill College on a tennis scholarship and graduated in 1987 from the liberal arts college with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in English.  Along with teaching religion she is responsible for planning liturgies, is a member of the Catholic Schools Week Committee,  is in charge of alter server assignments, is the quiz bowl team co-moderator, is the student council co-sponsor and dance team co-sponsor.

Mrs. Gambel has been trained in Boys Town, Write from the Beginning, Think Maps, and the Accelerated Reading program.

When asked what brought Mrs. Gambel to Holy Ghost she explained that it was truly the hand of God.  "When my husband and I first moved to the area we lived in Ponchatoula and were parishioners at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  I went to register my son for first grade at St. Joseph's and they explained that he would be put on a waiting list and probably would not get in.  THEY suggested I come to Holy Ghost and register him here...they sent me right over....I came and got the last spot for first grade...someone that day had dropped out and I  was blessed to get the spot.  Spending time with my son in his classroom allowed me to experience the "Holy Ghost Spirit" first hand and I knew I wanted to be a part of this school not only as a parent but in the classroom.  When the summer approached I applied for a job, any job, that would allow me to be part of the dynamic team here at Holy Ghost.  I love the staff, the parents, the priests and most importantly the students of Holy Ghost.  They fill my heart with joy and happiness and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to have them all as an everyday part of my life!!"
