Welcome to Kindergarten! This year will be a fun filled
learning experience for your. child. Your child will be learning
through many different learning styles. Through different activities
and strategies, we believe every child's needs will be met.
Each week, on Monday, we will send home a newsletter to
inform you of what your child is learning that week. It will also
contain information on field trips, parties, or other events in which
your child will be participating.
Communication between a parent and teacher is vital in a
child's education; therefore, folders are sent home daily. The folder
includes homework, important notes, and a behavior chart. Please check
the folders and return them daily. A homework chart will be placed in
the front of your child's folder. Each night your child's completes
his/her homework, he/she will receive a stamp. After their charts are
filled they will receive a "No Homework" pass. This will be
a free night with no homework. We find that parents love this as much
as children.
We know your child is the most special person to you.
They are very special to us also. In order that your child learns to
the best of their ability, we have established the following rules:
1. Use your inside voice.
2. Stay in your seat or work area.
3. Raise your hand to speak.
4. Follow directions.
5. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
A behavior chart is set up in our class. If a student
chooses to break a rule, they will change their "card" or
"stick" on the behavior chart. Each time a student breaks a
rule, a different corrective action is given. Corrective actions are
as follows: (each adheres to a different colored "card" or
"stick").

Children are always rewarded for good behavior! Each child begins the day with a fresh start. Rewards include prize box, pencils, erasers, stickers, verbal praise, etc. Please praise your child at home for a job well done, Together, we are going to have a great year!
