Stephanie Clouatre-Davis is from St. Amant, Louisiana, a small town off of I-10 between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Stephanie’s educational journey began at Loyola University where she obtained a B.A. in Religious Studies. After acquiring this degree and spending some beautiful years at Holy Ghost School and Parish as religion teacher for the 5/6th grade program and youth minister for the parish, she married a wonderful man from Hammond, Michael Davis. Because Michael’s work placed him in Lafayette Louisiana, Stephanie and Michael made Lafayette their home. Stephanie then began the pursuit of two degrees, a master’s in ministry at Loyola Institute for Ministry and a PhD in Rhetoric (Writing) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL). During this time Stephanie taught freshman composition courses at ULL, and assisted in ministry programs at the outstanding St. Thomas More High School. More importantly, though, during this time Stephanie and Michael welcomed two beautiful girls into their life, Emma and Abigail. Emma is now three and Abby is 18 months, and we love them more than the moon and the stars! After a while, though, we missed being close to our families. So, we moved to New Orleans in May 2005, and Stephanie began working at another exquisite Dominican institution, Dominican High School in Uptown New Orleans. All the while, though, she continued her academic pursuits. We welcomed, or rather, watched in horror as Katrina arrived in August, 3 months after our move. After losing NEARLY everything (which only brings you closer to God… puts it all in perspective,) we moved back to Lafayette, the place where Michael’s company was placing its employees. Stephanie began work again at ULL. Duration was the champion, though, in this battle. They moved back to the Greater New Orleans area this summer. Michael is working in New Orleans, and Stephanie’s back at “home” at Holy Ghost School. They presently reside in Madisonville where their children run and play (as well as challenge them in various ways,) and Stephanie continues her academic pursuits. She is presently nearly completed her course work and faces various testing as well as dissertation work. Stephanie also engages in various attempts in her speaking ministry including facilitating workshops and retreats throughout south Louisiana, and as far away as Notre Dame University in Indiana. You can catch her this year at the Baton Rouge Diocese Youth Conference as the keynote! Here are voices of some of my critics: Mrs. Davis teaching at Holy Ghost is a miracle. She is the most amazing, “hip”, and cool Language Arts teacher ever! She can even be a little strict, but we deserve it sometimes! Although Mrs. Davis and her family may have been through a lot since Hurricane Katrina, it’s still amazing to believe how she starts a new better life in Hammond, Louisiana. Holy Ghost School is very lucky to have Mrs. Davis. It’s from my heart. I love you Mrs. Davis! Love Your Benevolent and Smart Student, Phyllis Lee. ************************************************************************ Mrs. Davis is a very cool but strict teacher. She is a very fun too, but if you’re bad she will be on you like butter on bread. I think she is somewhat mean to people .She is also nice and funny. But she will get whatever you’re studying in your head if you listen to her. She also has this cool twin who got in a magazine .I love the game she plays in the being of class called the ballgame. The ballgame is a game where we throw a ball around the classroom. She is a teacher made for the best school Holy Ghost School. Love Your Soccer Kid, Spencer M.
