Tonya Hoover Costa
Assistant Athletic Director
Physical Education Teacher (Pre-K – 4 )

Tonya H. Costa teaches Physical Education to Pre- K – 4th grade students.  She also teaches Health Lessons, Personal Hygiene, and safety programs called Risk Watch.  She is trained in the Boys Town Skills and is the Assistant Athletic Director.  Costa is a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church where she has helped out during their Vacation Bible School.  She enjoys all kinds of sports, playing cards, bingo and spending time with her family.

Tonya Costa was born in Baton Rouge and was raised in Watson, La.  She graduated in the top ten from Live Oak High School in 1989 and went straight to college at Southeastern Louisiana University.  Costa graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Education in 1994.

Tonya married Tommy Costa in 1994.  They have two girls, Catherine and Kellee Costa.  She was a stay at home mom for six years.  She did volunteer work and some substituting for Holy Ghost before she was hired on as a math teacher in 2001.  After teaching math for one year, she moved to teaching P.E. where she has been for three years.

As Costa was substituting at Holy Ghost, she realized that this was the place she wanted to teach.  The faculty and staff treated each other like family.  The atmosphere was warm, caring and joy to be in.  Costa feels that one benefit from teaching at Holy Ghost is being able to have a second family and true friends.  She knows that when you need something her second family will always be there.  She also enjoys teaching at the same school that her girls attend.
