Classroom Procedures

·        Students may choose a seat in the first days of school. They will be assigned to the seats they have chosen for the remainder of the year, unless a change must be made due to misbehavior.

·        Students should take care of getting water and using the restroom between classes.  If it is necessary to go during class, the student should raise his/her hand and ask for permission to leave class.  The student must sign out and in when leaving.

·        Each day, students should enter the room and have a seat immediately.  They will begin working on the bell work or reading from his/her Accelerated Reader book.

·        All pencils should be sharpened before class begins.  Students may re-sharpen pencils during class when necessary.  However, a student should not get out of his/her seat when I am teaching.

·        Students should bring all materials (binder, calculator, and pencil) to class everyday.  No sharing will be allowed.

·         If a student does not have his/her materials in class, points will be deducted from his/her participation grade.

·        When a student is absent, he/she should bring a note.  Students will be given the amount of time that they were absent to complete all missed work.  (See Parent-Student Handbook, 5.3)

·        Late homework will not be accepted and will receive a grade of “0”.  For all other late assignments, the student's grade will be lowered one letter grade per day on the assignment. Also, homework must be completed in pencil (not erasable pen). Students will loose 1 point each time an assignment is completed in ink.

·        When taking a quiz or a test, students may not talk.  Students who finish early should use this time to read from their Accelerated Reader books.

·        If a student is caught cheating on an assignment, quiz, or a test, his/her paper will receive a grade of “0” and a referral will be sent to the office.
