About The Spirit of the Stage:
Holy Ghost is proud to offer the Drama Club for students in grades 5th - 8th. The Spirit of the Stage has presented musical theatre to the students of Holy Ghost, a few surrounding schools, and the general public since 1995. Some past productions include Grease, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, and most recently, selections from Music Theatre International's popular Broadway Junior series. These productions include Annie Jr., Honk Jr., Into the Woods Jr., Aladdin Jr., Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr., Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Jr, Willie Wonka, Jr., Seussical, Jr., and Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr., Peter Pan, Jr., Lion King, Jr, Madagascar Jr, Moana Jr, and Shrek Jr. The club has performed at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts for the past 16 years.
Rehearsals are held after school hours and pick-up is located outside on North Oak St. The Spirit of the Stage is directed by Provence Crnko and Joell Jones.
Honors and Awards:
The Spirit of the Stage has won numerous awards at the annual Junior Theatre Festival held in Atlanta. These awards include Excellence in Music, Acting, Choreography, Inspiration, and the Freddie G. Fellowship Award. This year we were honored to win the Excellence in Ensemble Award for our production of Shrek JR.
